I've always been fascinated by Melchizedek, who is first introduced to us in Genesis 14:18-20. He later appears in Psalm 110:4 and then again in the Book of Hebrews; Chapters 5, 6 and 7. This mysterious character, who we know nothing about his lineage, gives Abraham a blessing from אל עליון (El Elyon - The Most High God) and then Abraham tithes a tenth of all his processions; which confirms the Oral Torah.
We know that Melchizedek is a priest-king who rules the city Salem, that will later be called Jerusalem. This proves that G*g had already established his holy priesthood in Jerusalem.
His Hebrew name, מלכי צדק (Malek Tzedeq) literally means "King of Righteousness".
In this short video made by the Bible Project, we are told how Melchizedek fits into the larger biblical theme of the coming royal priest.
