The Psalms are absolutely amazing and are filled with Heavenly Wisdom. This one caught my eye and I wanted to go through it and break down some key verses as thoroughly as possible.
1. {To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.}
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5. Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
This Psalm is comprised of 14 Verses, and we know that seven is a representation of HaShem's Physical Perfection. He always manifests His Glory into this physical existence in sevens. Seven days of the week, seven notes of a music scale, seven colors of the rainbow, seven holes in our head, seven layers of the our skin, even the ocean waves roll in sevens. When I see something in scripture laid out in the number 14, I see a double portion of His Perfection.
Another note of significance to the number fourteen is The Genealogy of Yeshua The Messiah, given in Matthew Chapter One. Paul tells us that The Gospel was to be given "to the Jew first" and The Gospel of Matthew is indeed written specifically for The Jewish People.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." - Romans 1:16
In Matthew Chapter One, The Genealogy of Yeshua The Messiah is comprised of three fourteen generational sections and goes back to Abraham, which has special significance to Our Jewish Brothers and Sisters.
"So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations." - Matthew 1:17
Here is what most people never see about this number fourteen, that Matthew so specifically uses to group these three sections. Fourteen is the Numeric Value of David, and in the very first verse of His Gospel, Matthew makes it a point to specify Yeshua as The Son of David.
"This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham" - Matthew 1:1
David - ( דוד )
Numeric Value of 14
How cool is that?!?!
Now, back to Psalm 19, beginning with Verse 1; I want to reiterate a very significant point from a previous post. The Glory that The Heavens Declare is Most Definitely Yeshua. The Heavens referred to here is the what we see in the sky; the sun, moon and the stars. These are The Heavenly Bodies, that we can physically witness above, who proclaim His Glory. Even the Zodiac tells the story of Yeshua, see here for more:
The Numeric Value for the phrase, "The Heavens declare the Glory of G*d", is also the Numeric Value of Jesus in its original Greek - Ιησούς.
"The Heavens Declare The Glory of G*d"
השמים מספרים כבוד־אל
Total Value = 888
Numeric Value of Ιησούς = 888
I found the second verse to be very interesting. Let's dig into it:
"Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge." - Psalm 19:2
When I read this verse, it was very clear to me that the "night sheweth knowledge" is an obvious reference to the moon and stars. People have looking to the night sky for astrological truths (knowledge) revealed in the stars for centuries. However, what is the meaning of "day uttereth speech". First off, let's establish that in this case I believe that it's safe to assume that "Day" is a reference to The Sun. If we examine the original Hebrew word that is translated as "Uttereth" - Root Word "Naba" ( נבע ) Strong's 5042 - we get a more significant meaning of what is being said here about The Day. The word translated here as "Uttereth" literally means "to flow, spring, bubble up". The next word, translated as "Speech" - "Omer" ( אמר ) Strong's 562 - means "promise, speech, thing, word". Understanding that, we see how the sun pours its abundance out its promise and life onto the world, day after day. Very Cool!
"I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things." - Isaiah 45:7
The sun that we see in the firmament, is a visible symbol (or emblem) of the Sun of Righteousness; Yeshua Himself. Just as The Sun pours out its light in abundance onto this physical world, Yeshua (The Son of G*d) does the same spiritually. It's not difficult to comprehend the folly of ancient people who actually worshipped the sun. The sun is the source of all physical life and Yeshua is the source of everlasting life. The sun can be seen as the greatest member of the heavenly choir and it is clear that it is an agent of G*d, revealing His Glory.
We even see the "Sun of Righteousness" as a reference for Yeshua in Malachi 4:2:
"But for you who fear my name, The Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall." - Malachi 4:2
If you are familiar with my work on here, then you know that the number 37 is like a signature that Our Creator encodes in so much of His Word. The verse above is no different, when we examine the following phrase from this verse:
"But for you who fear my name, The Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings."
וזרחה לכם יראי שמי שמש צדקה ומרפא בכנפיה
Has a Numeric Value of 2220 (37x60)
Ἰησοῦς Χριστός = 2368 (37x64)
"But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." - Proverbs 4:18
Verse Three goes back to the astrological knowledge, that the second part of Verse Two is referencing.
"There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard." - Psalm 19:3
Think about all of the diverse nations in this world and all of their different spoken languages. The universal constant is the night sky and the revalation given through the paths of the stars. It can be said that the heavens speak a universal language that is intelligible to of the nations. Israel was warned not to worship these heavenly bodies and that they were given to the other nations; but not Israel. They represent lesser, strange gods who answer to HaShem.
"And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven." - Deuteronomy 4:19
"Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof." - Psalm 19:4-6
The "line" that is referred to in verse four, is kind of like a divine plummet line or measuring cord, like an architecture tool that Our Creator used in creation. This is a metaphor that I have yet to fully grasp, but I see that is used several times throughout scripture, notably in the Books of Jeremiah and Zechariah.
"And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah." - Jeremiah 31:39
"Therefore, thus says the LORD, I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy; my house shall be built in it, declares the LORD of hosts, and the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem." - Zechariah 1:16
"And I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand!
Then I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length." - Zechariah 2:1-2
I see this as a metaphor for the truth of Yeshua and as the spread of light, which relates the heavens as akin to The Church and the sun as the Gospel. Paul even relates Psalm 19:4 as "The Word of Christ":
"Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
But I ask, did they not hear? Indeed they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” - Romans 10:17-18
The Jewish Rabbis' teach that there is 70 interpretations of scripture, which I believe is an understatement, as The Word of G*d is truly infinite. One interpretation for the "tabernacle of the sun" can understood as a tent, or curtains, perhaps physical cloud cover. When we think of the tabernacle, we think about the dwelling place of The Almighty, His Holy Spirit. Here I see an obvious reference to Yeshua, who is the bridegroom and we (the church) are his bride. We have been given the job of spreading His Light, through the Gospel, "through all the earth" and "to the end of the world". Yeshua Himself tells us the following:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." - Matthew 24:14
Now I'm not big on eschatology, as it is so easy to argue many different viewpoints and interpretations; I don't think that it's a far stretch to say that in this age of information The Gospel has now surely reached all ends of the earth. My thought process about it all is to be prepared, regardless of when it happens. There isn't a human being on this earth who is promised another day. Don't wait until tomorrow to get right with G*d, tomorrow may never come.
The first half of this Psalm, primarily is referencing the heavenly bodies uses the title El ( אל ) - G*d, as if to suggest that nature itself declares G*d to us as His Power and Glory. The second half, that is in reference to The Laws uses the title HaShem, or LORD, ( יהוה ) signifying His Divine Will and Counsel. At this point, this particular Psalm now changes gears and the rest of it is about the Perfection of HaShem's Law - ( Torah of HaShem - תורת יהוה ) and how it purifies us. It's interesting to see how there are seven attributes given to The Torah in the first three verses (and we've already established the significance of that number), now let's examine these seven attributes:
1) Perfect - T'memah ( תמימה ) - Numeric Value 495 - can also be translated as "without defect or blemish", "complete" or "sound"
2) Sure - Neh Emanah ( נאמנה ) - Numeric Value 146 - "faithful" - Root Word is Amen ( אמן ) - "to confirm, support"
3) Right - Numeric Value 560 - YeSarim ( ישרים ) "upright" - Root Word is Yashar ( ישר ) - "Straight" (as in the word Yisrael - ישראל - which is a combination of the two words "Yasher" and "El" - literally means "Straight To G*d")
4) Pure - Berah ( ברה ) - Numeric Value 207 - Root Word is Bar ( בר ) which is Aramaic for "Son" however, it's used as "Son" in 2 places in The Hebrew Bible as well (Psalm 2:12, and Three Times in Proverbs 31:2) - Bar ( בר ) can also be used as "Grain" - it is also related to "Barah" ( ברא ) - which means "to create", this term is only applied to G*d and what He Creates, it is never used by any creation from man. Only G*d can create something from nothing. - Numeric Value 207
5) Clean - T'Horat ( טהורה ) - Numeric Value 225 - It's interesting that The Psalmist used two separate words for "Pure" and "Clean" - as this word literally means "Pure" as well; used 40 times throughout scripture as "Pure". I see that this alludes to the "the commandment of the LORD" as Yeshua - The Son ( בר ) - as the word "Torah" ( תורה ) and "Yeshua" ( ישוע ) both have the same Ordinal Value of 53 and The Same Reduced Values of 17 and of 8. Though Yeshua never outright claims to be "The Torah", we can deduce that The Torah is The Word of G*d and He is The Word Made Flesh; so, He surely is the author of both the Old and New Covenants. The Torah is not merely 613 commandments (365 Positive and 248 Negative), it is divine positive teaching and perfect instruction for the entire human race. Though it was given solely to Israel, Yeshua gave it whoever has Faith is Him; thus giving it to the entire world.
6) True - Emet ( אמת ) - Numeric Value 441 - can be expressed as (3x7) x (3x7) - This word is so awesome I done a post on it, Behold! The Perfect of Emet:
https://purelightandlove.wixsite.com/theword/post/behold-the-perfection-of-emet-אמת-truth
7) Righteous - Tsed'Ku ( צדקו ) - Numeric Value 200 - Root Word Tsadek ( צדק ) "Just", "Vindicated"
Anytime I do these studies and dig into the Numeric Values of these keywords, there is always something that The Holy Spirit is leading me to see. If we add up the values of each of these seven attributes above, we get the Numeric Value of Proverbs 28:18, which is in reference to Walking Upright by doing it His Way and not ours.
495 + 146 + 560 + 207 + 225 + 441 + 200 = 2274
"Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once." - Proverbs 28:18
הולך תמים יושע ונעקש דרכים יפול באחת׃
Numeric Value: 2274
10. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
There are two separate words for "Gold" used here in Hebrew; Zahav ( זהב ) - Gold - and Paz ( פז ) - Refined Gold; the same can be said about the honey, as the honey that flows from the honeycomb is sweeter than the rest. It seems to be a very peotic analogy that The Word of HaShem is great outwardly, but is much greater to the one who accepts it inwardly. HaShem's Law is far greater good to all mankind. It is the True Moral Compass of Humanity, it establishes unity for all of us. Needless to say, there is no amount of earthly riches that can begin to compare. Honey symbolizes Abundance, The Word of G*d, Wisdom (Yeshua - The Word Made Flesh, Wisdom Personified in Proverbs Chapter Eight). Ezekiel and John both spoke of The Word of G*d, as Honey in their mouths.
"And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness." – Ezekiel 3:3
"And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter." - Revelation 10:10
The remainder of this Psalm has to do with the personal application of The Torah and establishes the rewards given to those who keep His Commandments.
11. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Our way brings death and His Way brings life. Acceptance of G*d's Way and walking His Path brings us to a close personal relationship with Abba (Our Heavenly Father) and He in turn fills us with The Ruach HaQodesh (The Holy Spirit). This is a promise that Yeshua Himself has made to us:
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." - John 14:15-17
12. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
I know that there are many troubling verses in His Scripture that we can't fully understand and sometimes those verses are troubling because they reflect negatively on us, which is exactly what they're supposed to do. Meditating upon The Word essentially acts as a mirror to make visible the inner man. It exposes all of our blemishes and our fallen true nature. Paul summed this up best in his letter to The Romans:
"What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” - Romans 7:7
This beautiful Psalm closes with a wonderful prayer for the spiritual strength needed to overcome.
No matter what we do, we can never begin to do enough for HaShem. I proclaim to Him in my daily prayers that I can never Bless Him, Praise Him or Glorify Him enough. Nothing I can do will ever come close to what He has done for me, for any of us. I owe everything to Him, nothing is mine. He has been so patient with me for so many years, His Love is Perfect and Pure. No matter what happens in this life, no matter how difficult things get, I always keep my faith in Him.
Think about how Yeshua slept on the boat during the storm:
"And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm." - Matthew 8:24-26
For the first time in my life, I truly understand why He questioned their faith. When our faith is where it needs to be, we will be able to sleep through any storm that comes our way and rest assured, the storms are surely coming. He promises us Shalom, not understanding. His plan of it all is so enormous, we can never begin to comprehend it all. These tiny little tidbits that He shows me are so enlightening and uplifting, how could I not share it with anyone who will listen? I pay close attention to what He shares with others as well. He is literally pouring His Holy Spirit upon the world right now and people are waking up everywhere and it's amazing to see.
Our vessel cannot receive His Infinite Light until it is first made pure. We have to discard the old one and earn the new one. His Light is so Perfect and Pure it would literally consume us. This is definitely one of lessons that Yeshua was teaching us with The Patches and Wineskins Parable:
"He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will tear the new garment as well, and the patch from the new will not match the old.
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined.
Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins." - Luke 5:36-38
What would happen if we pour acid into a paper cup? Exactly.
We begin to earn our new vessel when we first accept that we are the source of our own suffering, and when we stop blaming the rest of the world for our problems. Everyone has a story...I can't change anything that has happened in my past, no one has that ability; but we do have the ability to let it go and move on. Do that and forgive anyone who has ever hurt you or wronged you in this life, and then you will be given a new wineskin that can contain your new wine from above.
