First off, for anyone who follows what I do on here, I sincerely apologize for taking so long to make a new post on here. The LORD has so lovingly brought several new people into my life over the past few months. We witness to one and another and grow together and that has been where I’ve spent the bulk of my spiritual energy (so to speak).
Just like every other Beliver, I’ve weathered some storms that have knocked me down a time or two, but He is always so quick to pick me up, dust me off and get me right back on track. I must Keep Him before me more and more each day and stay humble. I thank Him everyday for it all.
He keeps showing me just How Huge He Is and how small we are, connecting me with so many wonderful people in such unusual ways. I see His Hand over it all and it keeps me in awe of His Glory. How can I ever Bless Him, Thank Him or Praise Him enough?
He put this on my heart - learn it, pray it, live it.
From Psalm 46:10
הרפו ודעו כי-אנכי אלהים
Harpu Od’oo Ki-Anoki Elohim
“Be Still and Know That I Am God”
Sometimes we all just need to calm down, tune out the noise of this world and truly soak in His Presence. We are powerless any other way.
Though I’m growing older, just turned 48 this year, I’m trying so hard to be more like a child. As a child depends on their parents for everything, I know this much for sure - I’m nothing without Him and if there is anything Good about me whatsoever, it is HE WHO DWELLS WITHIN me. ALL Blessings, Honor, Love and Glory to G*d Almighty Forever and Eternity!
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” - 1 John 4:4
The Ruach HaQodesh (Holy Spirit) helped me piece together recently and I held onto it for a minute as if it was just for me, but I know better because it’s never about me. The Will of Our LORD is for us all to grow together with one another in Him - to become Echad (One) with Him. So, I don’t know who it’s for exactly, but I do know that I must put it out there for anyone who has Eyes to See.
May that person be You - B’Shem Yeshua AMEN!
Back when I was just a mere pup, maybe 13 years old or so, my mom and I left an abusive home and started over in a new town and a place of our own. I was pretty much a troubled child by that point, very introverted and withdrawn and didn’t fit in with my new classmates. One guy thought it would be cool to pick on me in gym class and I exploded on him, I went straight for his throat and cut him in half my sharp tongue, I truly humiliated him.
It didn’t take me long to cool off and apologize, but he wasn’t having it. I look back and I don’t fault him for it, all we can do is apologize for our actions and then it’s on them. Forgiveness is a gift that no one owes us. Long story short, I tried to apologize to him a couple more times later that day, but when school was out, all of the other kids circled around us like a bunch of bloodthirsty Roman Savages (lol) and I guess there had to be a fight. I stood down and took my blows that day, got a broken nose and two black eyes to go along with it…oh joy!
Luckily, this was just before spring break, so I was out of school just long enough to begin to look halfway normal again, but I still had those dreaded black eyes and was terrified to go back and face everyone…I first humiliated him and then he humbled me, but I did turn the other cheek (so to speak). I never felt so much anxiety in my life, not to this very day, and out of desperation I reached for my Bible. I done one to those Bible Roulette kinda deals and just opened it up randomly and looked down and this was where it landed.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” - Matthew 6:9-13
That evening, My Soul detached from My Body clung to My Spirit, as I read this out loud over and over. Before I put that Bible back on the bookshelf, I stuck that verse - word for word - and have prayed it every single day ever since. Needless to say, He Blessed Me well beyond my comprehension that day and took me to those Sacred Words and led me to store them in heart. It all worked out the next day and I had nothing to be afraid of - to my astonishment, I went from being a nobody at that school to being sort of cool…kids are weird.
Every Christian (Disciple of Yeshua) should know this by prayer by heart as it’s the fundamental prayer of Christianity. What’s not to love about it? Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMashiach) taught it to us personally.
It so beautifully opens with the proclamation of G*d, Our Eternal Creator, as Our Heavenly Father and then proceeds with Seven Petitions.
1) Hallowed (Holy, Sacred) Be Thy Name
2) Thy Kingdom Come
3) Thy Will Be Done
4) Forgive Us Our Debts (Offences, Sins)
5) Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread
6) Lead Us Not Into Temptation
7) Deliver Us From Evil
As I’m writing this, Number Five on this list jumped right out at me and got my engineering math nerd gears turning. I love these numbers and have wrote about some of this before. Five is The Number of Grace, Yeshua is The Grace of G*d, He is Our Daily Bread - He was born in Bethlehem. Bethlehem in Hebrew is Beit Lechem - House of Bread - ( בית לחם ) - so He literally came from The House of Bread. Yeshua is The True Bread From Heaven and we can even observe evidence for this Sacred Truth in the Integral Digits of Pi - and of course, there were the Five Loaves and Two Fish. Now I gotta dig into that and see what all I can find…stay tuned!
I’ve said it a million times - G*d is Real, Jesus is exactly who The Holy Bible says that He is and Numbers don’t lie.
Okay, so back to the point of this post, I’m only going to glean upon two of those seven. Numbers Two and Three, come from one single verse, Matthew 6:10. If it be His Will, hopefully I can dig into these others soon.
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” - Matthew 6:10
“Thy Kingdom Come”
Here we are proclaiming and making the declaration that this Earthly Kingdom is HIS Kingdom, just as Heaven is.
Remember, when satan tempted Yeshua in the desert and offered him dominion over all this physical world, Yeshua did not say that it wasn’t his to give…read it closely, it was the Third Temptation found Matthew Chapter Four.
“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” - Matthew 4:8-11
The biggest takeaway here for me is the fact that that Yeshua quoted The Torah all three times and satan fled from Him - that's why we need to know it and keep it in our heart. Nothing begins to compare to The Power of The Word! What satan has been given temporary authority of here is merely dust, which is the source of our flesh - this will all tie into the next part nicely, I promise I’m doing my best to take us somewhere special here.
“And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” - Genesis 2:7
Thy Will Be Done in Earth, As It Is In Heaven
This part is a bit more abstract and will may some spiritual insight to comprehend, which of course makes it difficult for me to attempt to explain it, but here goes.
Everything that we see as reality on this earth is just a short blip of time, it may be 1% of Our LORD’s Creation. The other 99% is what we need to stay focused on - Heaven.
Flesh comes from the Dust of The Earth and will ultimately return back to The Dust of The Earth.
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” - Genesis 3:19
In 1 Corinthians 15:50, Paul makes it clear that our flesh cannot inherit The Kingdom of G*d. Paul wrote of this mystery which explains what I believe that we’re really proclaiming when we say “Thy Will Be Done in Earth, As It Is In Heaven” - though we can’t begin to comprehend it with this simple sounding phrase.
In order to see this we must first fully understand that our struggle is not against flesh and blood…as it is written:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” - Ephesians 6:12
Knowing that this heavenly battle is going on between good and evil, which manifests itself into this physical reality then why do we ask for His Will to be done “on earth as it is in Heaven” if the same war is going on there? Is it not His Will that that the heavenly between good and evil struggle ensues? Can you see the mystery here?
What I believe that we are truly proclaiming by this statement is that it be His Will that we become as Heaven (or Heavenly). We must be Born Again to become greater than this world, to become as Heaven - as the flesh cannot obtain The Kingdom of God. A closer examine of 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 (Verses 42-50) makes this clear - pay close attention to the parts that I have underlined.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. - 1 Corinthians 15:42-50
The flesh is corrupted by sin. Every single person born into this world will is predestined to sin and death. Our physical bodies are made from the dust of the earth and the serpent was cursed to eat the dust of the earth.
“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life” - Genesis 3:14
Through that perspective, we can perceive that the flesh is merely snake food, powerless against sin - and that’s why the lost souls of this world do wicked things without any shame. They inadvertently feed satan and serve him in this earthy realm. The deeper into sin they go, the more their souls are drown down to the base of this world, back to the dust. Such a sad existence…
A spiritual battle must be fought spiritually, through worship and prayer. Pray for those poor lost souls and understand that was once us. Share your testimony with them whenever the time is right. If we combat their hatred with love, the hot coals that we heap onto their heads could very well lead them to repentance and to salvation. May our spiritual fruit bear much seed of its own kind and may those seeds continue to multiply.
There’s always so much more I could say about all of this, but I’m gonna wrap this one up. In summary, our flesh (earth) cannot inherit The Kingdom of God, unless we choose to The Way, The Truth and The Life and put our Faith in Yeshua - The Most Precious Gift of Grace that G*d ever bestowed upon this world. We must be truly Be Born Again in Spirit and at that point our flesh is dead, crucified on that cross with Yeshua - only at that point can we truly begin the transformation from flesh (earth and dust) to spirit (Heaven).
May our transformation in Yeshua from flesh to Spirit continue to grow in His Word. May we be blessed with His Mind, His Strength and His Heart - so that we will make His Word our reality. May this Be His Will, More and More Each Day.
B’Shem Yeshua HaMashiach Amen and AMEN!
חסד ושלום עליכ והרבה אהבה וברכות
May Grace and Peace Be Upon You and Much Love and Blessings!
Praise G-d that you are finally back! I appreciate this post sincerely—this prayer is much more significant to our lives than just a prayer that you'd say before you go to bed. When you break it all down, it all makes sense.
