Shema Yisrael! The True Bread of Life from Heaven!

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” - John 1:45

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” - Luke 24:27

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.” - John 5:46

One of the most well known sections of The Torah is The Shema Prayer, which is said twice daily in the Jewish world. The Shema Prayer consists of the following verses from The Torah:

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our GOD The LORD is ONE:

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates." - Deuteronomy 6:4-9

This has long been one of the most important sections of The Torah and has been recited daily by Jewish People. It proclaims the Oneness of G*d in an arguably Triune Fashion, eluding to the Complex Unity of Our Crator. Yeshua even quoted The Shema when he was questioned by the Pharisees about His Understanding of The Torah.

"And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”

And Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord" - Mark 12:28-29

The meaning of the word “Shema” ( שמע ) is translated as “Hear” or “Listen”, but it has much more depth in The Hebrew Language. A more accurate idea of what Shema actually means would be something like “pay attention and obey this” - hopefully this truth will help reveal Yeshua as The Jewish Messiah.

Shema Yisrael!

שמע ישראל

Hear (Listen) Israel (Deuteronomy 6:4)

Numeric Value = 951

In Greek Isopsephy, the Numeric Value of Yeshua (Jesus / Ιησούς) is 888

951 + 888 = 1839

“The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken" - Deuteronomy 18:15

נביא מקרבך מאחיך כמני יקים לך יהוה אלהיך אליו תשמעון

Numeric Value of Deuteronomy 18:15 = 1839

Logos and The Bread of Life

"Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” - John 6:31-33

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." - John 6:51

"This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever." - John 6:58

We all know that Yeshua (Jesus), Our LORD and Savior, was born in Bethlehem. Bethlehem in Hebrew is Beit Lechem - House of Bread - ( בית לחם ).

For more on this, sure to check out this post about “Our Daily Bread”:

Bread - Lechem ( לחם )

Numeric Value = 78

The first 78 Integral Digits of Pi (after the decimal place) add up to 373

373 is The Numeric Value of λόγος - Logos - WORD

"In the beginning was the Word ( Λόγος ), and the Word ( Λόγος ) was with God, and the Word ( Λόγος ) was God." - John 1:1

Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ Λόγος, καὶ ὁ Λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν Θεόν, καὶ Θεὸς ἦν ὁ Λόγος.

It should not be overlooked that the word "Logos" appears three times in this verse; nothing is random in scripture. I have shared this next part before, but I must reveal it again...The WORD is absolutely astounding in its Divine Perfection. In John 1:1, Logos - Word - ( Λόγος ) is used three times, 3 x 373 = 1119.

Now check this out!

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." - Genesis 1:1

בראשית ברא אלהים את השמים ואת הארץ

Total Numeric Value = 2,701

Yeshua revealed to us that He is "The First and The Last", so if we subtract the values of the first ( בראשית ) and last ( הארץ ) words from Genesis 1:1 as such:

In The Beginning - ( בראשית ) - Numeric Value = 913

The Earth - ( הארץ ) - Numeric Value = 296

2,701 - 913 - 296 = 1492

Now, if we subtract the Numeric Value of ( Λόγος ) from this remainder:

1492 - 373 = 1119 ( 373 x 3 )

Here we see that if we take away The First and The Last words of Genesis 1:1, along with The Value of The Word, numerically we are still left with The Complex Unity (aka "Trinity") of Our Creator.
