Why We Must Pray For Israel

Updated: Oct 23, 2023

This post could go on and on, as there are so many verses that explain why we should all pray for Israel. With all that is going on in the world right now, Satan is on a rampage. It seems that he is at his all time high. I have seen so many Christians who are confused about why we must support Israel. With all of the misinformation floating around out there, I understand where they are coming from.

First off, I must say that I do not condone everything that the Israeli government does, nor do many of the people who actually live there. Unfortunately, this is true with all governments and world leaders these days; but that has nothing to do with why we as Christians must stand with Israel.

Rather than just going on and on about it, I will share one Psalm that sums it all up best. There is only one city in the entire world that Our LORD commands us to pray for.

“A Song of degrees of David.

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.” - Psalms 122:1-9

Cling to The LORD with all of your heart, more so now than you ever have. There is only One Way and One Truth that Give Us All Peace. Pray for all of the nonbelievers over there to know The Truth of Jesus Christ. May He remove The Scales from Their Eyes. There there will never truly be peace in Israel until the entire nation knows Yeshua.

As it is written:

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” - Luke 13:34-35

Though it may seem difficult, we pray be sure to pray hard for the opposition over there as well, just as much we do for Israel.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” - Matthew 5:43-48

חסד ושלום עליכם והרבה אהבה וברכות
